22. San Francisco 49ers
What was that? The San Francisco 49ers played host to an Arizona Cardinals team without Kyler Murray, DeAndre Hopkins, and others in Week 9 and were thoroughly beaten on both sides of the ball.
It was a must-win game for the 49ers who now find themselves in last place in the NFC West with a 3-5 record. Is head coach Kyle Shanahan on the hot seat? It's probably too early for that.
But the 49ers need to use this game as a wake-up call and maybe consider making a change at the quarterback position if their season continues to spiral.
21. Atlanta Falcons
If the season were to end right now, the Atlanta Falcons would be a playoff team. The Falcons currently sit at 4-4 having won three of their last four games, although their victories have hardly been impressive.
Matt Ryan is showing that he still has plenty left in the tank and an offense that most counted out going into the year has been carried by standout performances from the likes of Kyle Pitts and Cordarrelle Patterson.
Still, this probably shouldn't be a .500 team. The Falcons were blown out by the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1 and hold recent losses to Washington and the Panthers.
The Falcons have overachieved, but they've yet to prove they're legit contenders. A matchup with the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday could do the trick.
