Why not just throw caution to the wind and go all-in on this season?

Kirk Cousins Trade Number 1

The Vikings likely aren't ready to throw in the towel on this season just yet, but they have the Kansas City Chiefs this coming week and could fall to 1-4. If that happens, why not just focus on the future? Cousins is not going to be part of future seasons in Minnesota; at least that's what many fans will tell you.

The Jets, meanwhile, could use a quarterback like Cousins. He gets a lot of criticism, but Cousins is still one of the better quarterbacks in the league. He is top five in both passing yards and touchdowns through four weeks, and certainly isn't the reason for the Vikings' 1-3 start.

In this deal, the Vikings would get Zach Wilson to start things off. Maybe, a change of scenery would be good for Wilson. Kevin O'Connell could potentially turn things around for the young quarterback, and playing with Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison couldn't hurt either.

Minnesota would also get a third rounder next year, plus a fourth-round pick in 2025. That might seem like a lot for a quarterback rental, but if the Jets are able to compete for a Super Bowl, it would be well-worth it.
