The NY Jets are showing plenty of interest in a number of the top prospects in the 2022 NFL Draft, but one player who may just be high atop their list of potential targets is Oregon pass rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux.

Thibodeaux is widely seen as one of the best prospects in this year's draft and a potential top-five pick. The 21-year-old recently had his official pre-draft meeting with the Jets and, according to Good Morning Football's Peter Schrager, it went really well.

Schrager said that Thibodeaux had a "great meeting" with the Jets and that he's "very much in the conversation at No. 4." The Jets have done their fair share of homework on Thibodeaux, and it sure seems as though they like what they see.

Schrager went on to detail how Thibodeaux came across as a "team guy" and he impressed the Jets with his attitude and demeanor — certainly a far cry from some of the other rumors circulating about him.

The Jets have been connected to a number of different prospects in the lead up to the draft, but perhaps none more so than Thibodeaux. The former Oregon star is one of the most contentious prospects in this year's class.

It wasn't long ago that Thibodeaux was widely seen as a future No. 1 overall pick and the best player at his position. He's still widely seen as a top-five pick, but a few notable have seemingly caused his stock to drop.

Some have called into question his worth ethic, pointing to quotes that seemed to paint Thibodeaux as a "me-first guy." At this stage, all of those "concerns" are little more than noise.

There remains a better chance that Thibodeaux is taken before the Jets' pick at four than him still being on the board when they select again at 10. He could go as high as No. 2 overall to the Detroit Lions.

Thibodeaux put together a decorated career at Oregon that saw him lead his team in sacks and tackles for loss in all three years he was there, earn Unanimous All-American honors in 2021, and record 19 sacks in 21 career starts (32 total games).

It isn't hard to see why the Jets are interested, and if they have it their way, Kayvon Thibodeaux might just be the pick for the Jets at No. 4 overall.
