There might not be a team in the NFL with better value to win Super Bowl LVIII than the New York Jets.

Betting on the Jets to win the Super Bowl isn’t a smart play most years, but this could wind up being one of the best seasons in recent memory.

It all hinges on who is throwing passes in green and white next season.

If the quarterback is someone who was on the roster this past season – Zach Wilson, Mike White or Joe Flacco – this bet is in trouble.

If it’s not, we could have some serious value here, depending on who it is.

New QB could elevate Jets

The Jets are currently listed at +2800 odds to win next year’s Super Bowl, but that value will likely go down if they acquire a game-changing quarterback.

The QB market isn’t super rich this season, but there have already been trade rumors linking the Jets and aging superstar Aaron Rodgers.

Rodgers wasn’t his typical elite self this past season, failing to register a single 300-yard game as he dealt with a fractured thumb on his throwing hand, but the Jets don’t need elite-level quarterbacking to be contenders.

It feels like a long time ago, but the Jets were sitting at 6-3 halfway through the season and had a real chance to make the playoffs if not for crucial injuries to the offensive line, Breece Hall and horrendous passing from Wilson.

New York is in line to retain much of its top-tier talent and could benefit from the return of Hall and several offensive linemen this season.

It’s not hard to dream about Rodgers leading an offense that includes Hall, Garrett Wilson and Elijah Moore and see the path to a Super Bowl.

Playing in the AFC – a loaded conference that includes the Chiefs, Bills and Bengals – won’t make that path easy, but the value could be worth it in the long run.
