Aaron Rodgers announced today on "The Pat McAfee Show" that he does indeed intend to play for the NY Jets this season as long as a trade can be worked out with the Packers.
""I made it clear my intention was to play and to play for the New York Jets, and I haven't been holding anything up. It's the compensation that the Packers are trying to get ... The Packers want to move on and have let me know that in so many words," he said."
This is news most saw coming but Jets fans will be releived that know that Rodgers wants to be a Jet. The Packers have also made it clear that they are ready to move on from Rodgers so even if the teams squabble for a while over the compensation details, the deal is likely to get done sooner rather than later. It is in the best interest of both teams to get a deal done.
While it will only be a matter of time before we see Rodgers in a Jets uniform, the Internet doesn't like to wait. As you can expect, a number of tweets are being fired off today with photoshops of the future Hall of Famer in a Jets uniform.
Besides the standard "player in a new uniform" posts, there are also a number of people trolling this trend. These are good for a laugh.
