C.J. Mosley Injury Update: Jets star LB carted off with foot injury
By Justin Fried
*Update: The Jets have downgraded Mosley to doubtful with a toe injury*
The NY Jets could be without one of their most important defensive players as star linebacker C.J. Mosley was carted off the field during Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans.
Mosley came up limping in the second quarter of today's game and was helped off the field by trainers. He was later seen getting on a golf cart on the sideline as he was taken to the locker room.
The Jets are listing Mosley as questionable to return with what they're calling a foot injury. The fact that Mosley had to be carted to the back is not encouraging for his potential to return.
Jamien Sherwood and Chazz Surratt have taken Mosley's place alongside Quincy Williams in the middle of the Jets' defense. This is a developing story.
C.J. Mosley injury could further torpedo the NY Jets defense
The Jets' defense struggled mightily in their season opener against the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football last week, allowing eight consecutive scoring drives.
That same defense hasn't looked much better in Week 2. The Titans are running all over the Jets, and if not for a Will Levis blunder, would be winning by even more. Mosley's absence would only continue to tank what has been a disastrous start to the season for the Jets defense.
We will continue to update this story when further details are revealed. Mosley is currently listed as questionable to return with a foot injury.
