The NY Jets have a massive game this week against their divisional opponent and hated rival, the New England Patriots.
I read it best on Twitter this week. With a win, the Jets are 2-1 and firmly back in the Super Bowl or bust category to fans. With a loss, they are 1-2, and the "tank for Caleb" is back on. There are no other options.
The New England defense does pose some tough matchups for the Jets, and they have struggled mightily offensively against New England for the past decade, including really bad games for Zach Wilson last year.
Nonetheless, the Jets have three options for daily fantasy players, including some surprises at the end of the list. Good luck!
1. Breece Hall, RB, NY Jets
I mean, last week must surely be an outlier, right? The talk all week amongst coaches, fans, players, and media members is that the four touches Hall got last week were unacceptable and must be fixed immediately.
In addition to the increased focus on getting Hall touches, teammate Dalvin Cook is expected to start getting far fewer. Statistically, he has been one of the worst running backs in football this year and had a crucial fumble last week.
With those two pieces of information, plus another week of practice on his surgically repaired knee, I’m expecting a huge workload for Hall against New England.
Still priced at only $6,400 on FanDuel, Hall is a worthy option for a running back slot. That price puts him as the 17th overall-priced running back, and I just don’t see 17 running backs performing better than Hall this week.
I’d expect Hall to get at least 15 touches, probably closer to 20, and a total of around 100 yards. If he can find the endzone, plus add a few catches here and there, it could be a massive day for Hall in fantasy terms.
Final projection: 14 carries, 75 yards. 3 catches, 24 yards. 1 total touchdown. 18.9 total fantasy points.
