Analyzing all 26 NFL Draft prospects the NY Jets hosted on a top-30 visit
By Justin Fried
The NY Jets have met with these front seven players
Maason Smith, DT, LSU
Yes, the Jets have met with multiple Day 1/Day 2 defensive line prospects. LSU's Maason Smith is an athletic freak with outstanding size, although his lack of experience is noticeable on tape. Smith is probably a Day 2 prospect who would fit in quite well in Robert Saleh's defense, although there might not be room for him.
Chop Robinson, EDGE, Penn State
Chop Robinson is a Robert Saleh type of pass rusher. While he's still developing his overall pass-rush arsenal, Robinson has an electric first step that makes him one of the most dangerous pass-rushers in this class. He's seen as a fringe Day 1/Day 2 prospect.
Marshawn Kneeland, EDGE, Western Michigan
On the other end of the spectrum, Western Michigan's Marshawn Kneeland lacks elite burst and athleticism, but he makes up for it with size, power, and a high motor. At 6-foot-3, 267 pounds, Kneeland is a Day 2 prospect who is closer to the mold of players like John Franklin-Myers and Micheal Clemons.
Mohamed Kamara, EDGE, Colorado State
A native of Newark, NJ, Mohamed Kamara is an undersized, juiced-up edge rusher who plays with a relentless motor. Kamara, a likely Day 3 pick, has drawn comparisons to former Jets pass rusher Bryce Huff.
Javontae Jean-Baptiste, EDGE, Notre Dame
Another local product from Rockland County, NY, Javontae Jean-Baptiste is another undersized edge rusher who plays with a hot motor. He transferred to Notre Dame as a senior after five seasons at Ohio State. Jean-Baptiste is likely a late Day 3 prospect or priority free agent.
Nathaniel Watson, LB, Mississippi State
Nathaniel Watson was an ultra-productive three-year starter at Mississippi State who filled up the stat sheet with tackles and sacks. He's likely another Zaire Barnes-type as a Day 3 special-teams contributor, but he did put together a decorated college career and shouldn't be overlooked.
