Aaron Rodgers' injury history has understandably been one of the most prominent talking points since the four-time MVP was traded to the NY Jets, and those conversations only became more prevalent following his first season with the team.

Rodgers infamously tore his Achilles in his first game as a member of the Jets in 2023, prematurely ending his season before it ever really started. That wasn't the only major injury Rodgers sustained in his career, either.

Whenever you play in the NFL for as long as Rodgers has, close to 20 years now, you're bound to suffer at least a few notable injuries. While Rodgers has been mostly durable, he's still battled through and missed time due to various ailments over the years.

We will be taking a look at every major and minor injury that affected Rodgers throughout his NFL career. Let's dive in and analyze Rodgers' entire injury history.

Major injuries Aaron Rodgers sustained in the NFL

Broken Collarbone (2013)

The first major injury of Rodgers' NFL career came in 2013 when he suffered a broken left collarbone in a Week 9 game at home against the Chicago Bears. Bears linebacker Shea McClellin brought Rodgers down for a sack, who landed awkwardly on his left shoulder.

The injury forced Rodgers to miss the next seven games as the Packers lost five straight to fall nearly out of postseason contention. Rodgers returned after a two-month absence to start the regular-season finale also against the Bears, leading his team to victory and a playoff berth.

Broken Collarbone (2017)

Rodgers would later break his other collarbone a few years later in a Week 6 game against the Minnesota Vikings. The future Hall of Famer took a hit from Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr, resulting in a fractured right collarbone.

Rodgers underwent surgery a few days later and sat out until Week 15 when he was briefly activated off the injured reserve for a game against the Carolina Panthers. His return would be short-lived, as the Packers placed Rodgers on the IR after the game once Green Bay was officially eliminated from playoff contention.

Torn Achilles (2023)

The most recent and infamous of Rodgers' injuries came in Week 1 of the 2023 season. Rodgers was making his highly anticipated debut as a member of the Jets, but just four plays into the season opener against the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football, he suffered a torn left Achilles.

Rodgers was sacked by Bills linebacker Leonard Floyd, and despite initial reports suggesting he had suffered an ankle injury, it was confirmed to be an Achilles tear shortly after.

Rodgers would famously attempt a mid-season comeback from the Achilles tear and was even activated off the injured reserve late in the season, but once the Jets were officially eliminated from postseason contention, the dream of his historic return was ended.

Other injuries Aaron Rodgers sustained in the NFL

Broken Foot (2006)

Rodgers suffered a broken left foot in a Week 11 game against the New England Patriots as the second-year QB was filling in for regular starter Brett Favre in a blowout loss. The injury would sideline Rodgers for the remainder of the season.

MCL Sprain (2018)

Rodgers sustained a left knee injury in his team's season opener against the Chicago Bears in 2018. The injury actually caused Rodgers to be carted off, although he miraculously returned in the third quarter, leading the Packers to a 24-23 win on Sunday Night Football.

Rodgers later revealed the injury to be a plateau fracture and a sprained MCL in his left knee. He would start all 16 games in 2018, throwing 25 touchdowns and just two interceptions, despite dealing with the injury.

Broken Thumb (2022)

Rodgers' final season in Green Bay was marred by another injury he was forced to play through. The California product suffered a broken thumb on his throwing hand in Week 5 and battled through the injury for the remainder of the season, resulting in some of the worst statistical numbers of his career.
