The NY Jets are set to play a football game for the first time in over seven months when they take the field at Lincoln Financial Field for their Friday night preseason matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Jets return with a revamped roster following a near-universally praised offseason that saw the team make a number of important additions, both in free agency and the 2022 NFL Draft.

Of course, many of those key additions won't be seeing much action on Friday night with the Jets expected to play most of their starters for only 1-2 series. That doesn't mean there aren't some intriguing storylines to watch, however.

The preseason isn't about seeing the starters in action. It's about gauging the talent behind them and determining which depth players deserve roster spots.

The Jets have a number of roster spots and practice squad openings up for grabs this summer and Friday's game will be the biggest opportunity to date for the players fighting for those spots to make an impression.

That's what the preseason is all about, after all. Back-of-the-roster players hoping to secure a spot on the team and continue their dream. The result of the games might not matter, but the stakes are high nonetheless.

Which Jets players have the most to gain/lose this Friday night? Let's take a look at nine Jets players to keep an eye on in the team's first preseason game of the year.
