2. NY Jets vs. Houston Texans (6-3, .667)
We've reached the second of two AFC opponents that the Jets have a winning record against. The Jets have only played the Houston Texans nine times (second-fewest to the Carolina Panthers), but they've managed to win six of those games.
This includes a 21-14 win over the Texans in 2021, a game that saw both Zach Wilson and Austin Walter score rushing touchdowns. Tevin Coleman led the Jets in rushing that day.
This is another streaky matchup, with the Jets winning their first five games against the Texans before Houston rattled off three straight wins. Prior to that 2021 game, the Jets hadn't beaten the Texans since 2010.
The Jets and Texans are scheduled to meet each other in Week 14 this season, and the Jets will look to add to their all-time series lead.
1. NY Jets vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (10-3, .769)
There is no team the Jets have found greater success against than the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, seeing as though the Buccaneers hold the distinction of having the NFL's worst all-time winning percentage.
The Jets won 10 of their first 11 meetings with the Buccaneers ranging from 1976 until 2013, with Tampa Bay's only victory during that span coming in a 41-21 blowout in 1984.
The Bucs have won their last two games against the Jets, however, including a 28-24 victory near the end of the 2021 season. The last time the Jets defeated the Buccaneers was in Week 1 of 2013 — an 18-17 victory that featured a Josh Freeman safety and over 13 percent of Stephen Hill's career catches in the NFL.
Despite their recent losses, the Jets have still won over 75 percent of their meetings with the Buccaneers. They're the only team in the NFL the Jets can say that about.
