DUD: Matt Ammendola, K, NY Jets
The Jets still don't have a reliable kicker and that was evident with Matt Ammendola's performance on Sunday. Ammendola made just 1-of-3 field goals including misses from 55 and 40.
The 55-yarder is excusable, but a miss from 40 yards just can't happen. Despite a big leg, Ammendola has missed all three of his kicks from 50+ and made just 2-of-4 from 40-plus.
It wouldn't be a surprise to see the Jets bring some competition in for Ammendola over the next couple of weeks, especially if he continues to struggle.
STUD: Michael Carter, RB, NY Jets
An ankle injury has the potential to put a major damper on his season, but Michael Carter has already established himself as one of the best players on the Jets' roster.
Carter was once again fantastic on Sunday rushing for 63 yards on nine carries for a stellar average of 7.0 yards per carry. But the numbers never tell the whole story with him.
Carter never goes down on first contact. While hardly the biggest back, his balance and lower-body strength are off the charts. The following stat from ESPN's Seth Walder demonstrates just how much Carter is exceeding the expectations of a running back in his situation.
Jets rookie Michael Carter has the highest YAC over expectation per reception (+3.0) among RBs with at least 20 catches this season, per NFL Next Gen Stats.

He's exceeded his YAC expectation 77% of the time, also highest among the same group.
You could argue that Carter is already a top-five player on the Jets roster and a top-15 running back in the NFL. Here's to hoping he isn't forced to miss a significant amount of time.
