When the NY Jets traded for future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers this past offseason, they knew what they were signing up for. Yes, they were trading for one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, but they were also signing off on a handful of Rodgers-influenced roster decisions.

It's what the Denver Broncos did for Peyton Manning and what the Tampa Bay Buccaneers did for Tom Brady. The Jets were hardly alone in this, and Rodgers figures to play a significant role in the team's transactions in 2024 as well.

During his regularly scheduled appearance on The Pat McAfee Show this week, Rodgers suggested that he's open to being involved in the team's front-office decisions this offseason. Rodgers insisted that he was a "good recruiter."

With that in mind, who are some players Rodgers could recruit to the Jets in the coming months? Here are a few feasible targets.

7. Darnell Savage, S

The Jets have one of the best defenses in the NFL, with All-Pro talent at seemingly every position, but if there is one weakness with the unit, it would be the safety position.

Jordan Whitehead has underwhelmed this season and is a free agent. Tony Adams has played at a below-average level in his first year as a starter. If the Jets turn to the free-agent market to address the position, one player who makes sense is Darnell Savage.

The former Packers first-round pick is set to be a free agent in the offseason, and he'll be coming off a solid bounce-back season following a disappointing 2022 campaign.

Savage obviously crossed paths with Rodgers in Green Bay and could give the Jets a young, versatile, and affordable safety in free agency. He could be signed to replace Whitehead this offseason.
