4. The NY Jets will face Justin Herbert in Week 9

The Jets will have to run the gauntlet of the AFC West in 2023, and while there's a bigger test earlier in the season, no Jets fans should be sleeping on Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers — especially after another great addition in the form of TCU wide receiver Quentin Johnston.

Despite lacking playoff wins, the Chargers' young star has been incredible at every turn throughout the early portion of his career, and after a tough six-week stretch to start the year, this game may end up being a must-win one for the Jets.

2022 stats: 4,739 passing yards on 68.2 completion percentage with 25 touchdowns to 10 interceptions and a 93.2 passer rating.

3. The NY Jets will face Jalen Hurts in Week 6

Last year, the Philadelphia Eagles took a big step forward and were moments away from Super Bowl glory, and while no one specific person can take the blame for that, it appears the team has discovered a formula to win for a long, long time.

They've locked in All-Pro star Jalen Hurts to a massive extension, and while he's not proven it as consistently for a long period of time like other top names, there's no denying that, if he can be anywhere near the player we saw last year, his dual-threat abilities will give the elite Jets defense fits in Week 6.

2022 stats: 3,701 passing yards on 65.5 completion percentage, 22 touchdowns, and just six Interceptions with a 101.6 passer rating. He also added 760 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground.
