The NY Jets boast one of the deepest rosters the organization has had in a long time entering the 2022 season. It's a luxury they haven't been afforded in recent years but one that general manager Joe Douglas worked hard to curate this past offseason.

The Jets have depth. With depth comes security, but it also breeds competition. We've seen that with the Jets this summer.

The battle for many of the back-of-the-roster spots throughout training camp has been fierce, and it's highly likely that the Jets will be forced to cut some good players. Players who deserve to be on an NFL roster.

For that reason, don't be surprised if the Jets explore the trade market in the coming weeks. Let's take a look at five roster bubble players the Jets could look to trade before the start of the regular season.

5. Ashtyn Davis, S, NY Jets

Ashtyn Davis has fallen short of expectations since entering the league as a third-rounder back in 2020. The former Cal standout has flashed his athleticism, but he hasn't been able to harness that athleticism and refine his overall game.

Still, the Jets are hopeful that Davis could take a step forward with a full offseason of development under his belt. He still seems likely to survive roster cuts, but there are some other safeties giving him a run for his money.

Second-year defensive back Jason Pinnock has looked good this summer. The same is true for veteran Will Parks who would be a difficult player to cut. Even Elijah Riley has shown flashes.

Davis' ceiling might mean that another team would be willing to part ways with a future Day 3 pick. If anything, a potential swap of Day 3 picks could be appealing if the Jets are willing to give up on their former top-70 pick.
