The NY Jets have a number of different directions they could take in this year's 2023 NFL Draft. Whatever direction they decide on, the hope is that this year's class could at least come close to matching the star power of the 2022 class.

The Jets added both eventual Rookies of the Year as well as Breece Hall, the likely frontrunner for the award before his injury, in one draft. It's going to be tough to top that.

Still, the Jets have a chance to do some damage in this year's draft. Many expect the team to address their offensive line early, but there are a few other routes the Jets could explore.

What they shouldn't do is draft any of the five players on this list — at least not in the first round. Let's take a look at five draft prospects the Jets to avoid this year.

5. The NY Jets should not target Texas RB Bijan Robinson

This one should go without saying, but a few people have floated around the idea that the Jets should look to build around Aaron Rodgers in any way possible. Yes, that includes drafting Texas running back Bijan Robinson in the first round.

Robinson is an outstanding running back prospect, one of the best we've seen come out of college in years. He's very likely to be drafted in the first round, perhaps as high as the top 15.

However, under no circumstances should the Jets even consider drafting him. Breece Hall may be recovering from injury, but if the team wants to improve their running back depth, they shouldn't do so in the first round.

There's no logical argument for the Jets to draft Robinson at any point. He shouldn't be in consideration, for obvious reasons.
