For years after the success in 2009 and 2010, the NY Jets neglected the offensive line, and QB after QB has felt the pain of this. Thankfully, Joe Douglas has gone to work on rebuilding this line, and in the 2022 NFL Draft, he will likely add to it again.

With the oft-injured Mekhi Becton hoping to be back and better than ever in 2022, the Jets have a very good line on paper, but one injury could derail the season, so don’t be shocked if the Jets address the offensive line once again in the first round.

Whether it’s tackle, guard, or center, the Jets could use depth and insurance at each position. Here are five players that the Jets could potentially draft to sure up this suddenly very promising offensive line.

1. The Jets could look to target OT Ikem Ekwonu

For many, Ikem ‘Ickey’ Ekwonu has the potential to be the best player from the 2022 draft, and if 3 other teams pass on him, the Jets would have to consider his immense talent at pick No. 4.

While soft-spoken off the field, Ekwonu is a machine on it, and he'll be able to immediately slot into the NFL and deal with the physicality and toughness. That would be perfect opposite a healthy Mekhi Becton.

Ekwonu has been mocked to go anywhere from No. 1 overall to the teens, and it’s very likely the Jets could pass on him for an edge rusher or a cornerback like Sauce Gardner. But if they were to draft him, some Jets fans would no doubt be ecstatic.
