The NFL officially revealed the 2024 Pro Bowl rosters on Wednesday, and two NY Jets players were named to the initial rosters. Cornerback Sauce Gardner and defensive tackle Quinnen Williams will represent the Jets as Pro Bowl starters in Orlando next month.

The honor is well-deserved for two of the most dominant defensive players in the NFL. Gardner has followed up his outstanding rookie season with an arguably even more impressive sophomore campaign. Williams remains one of the most impactful defensive linemen in football.

However, while it's nice to see the Jets represented in the form of two of their best players, it's hard not to ignore the fact that a number of players on the roster were snubbed by the Pro Bowl voters.

The following five players all have a case to have been named to the 2024 Pro Bowl. Honorable mentions to the likes of Garrett Wilson, C.J. Mosley, Greg Zuerlein, and even Thomas Hennessy, who aren't on this list but deserve a shoutout nonetheless.

5. D.J. Reed, CB, NY Jets

It's not a shock that D.J. Reed was not named to the AFC Pro Bowl roster, and if we're being honest, it's hardly a travesty that he didn't make it. What is mind-blowing, however, is that Reed was not even named a Pro Bowl alternate.

Four different cornerbacks were named to the AFC Pro Bowl roster. Five additional cornerbacks were selected as alternates. Reed was not among them. If Pro Bowl voting is to be taken seriously, that would mean there are nine cornerbacks in the AFC alone that are better than Reed.

That just isn't the case. Reed has been excellent again in 2023, posting the 12th-best Pro Football Focus coverage grade among qualified cornerbacks. He's also allowed just two touchdowns all seasons.

Unfortunately, Reed is seemingly destined to be forever overshadowed by his position-mate Sauce Gardner. Reed remains one of the most underrated players in the entire NFL.
