1. Denzel Mims, WR, NY Jets

The Jets have completely remodeled their wide receiver room this offseason, saying goodbye to Braxton Berrios and bringing in the likes of Allen Lazard and Mecole Hardman. There's no guarantee Corey Davis is on the Week 1 roster either.

The team also flirted with the idea of adding another high-profile wide receiver, nearly signing former Pro Bowler Odell Beckham Jr. before he joined the Baltimore Ravens.

While a pursuit of another high-profile wide receiver seems unlikely, the Jets clearly still have interest in adding to their pass-catching corps. It wouldn't be a surprise at all to see the team draft a wide receiver at some point.

That wouldn't be encouraging news for former second-round pick Denzel Mims.

Mims has had a tumultuous three years with the Jets, and now entering the final year of his rookie contract, his 2023 role is very much to be determined. At the moment, he's slated to be the team's fifth wide receiver, but that could change if Davis is traded.

The Jets reportedly believe that Nathaniel Hackett's offense could be good for Mims. The team seems to believe that he could carve out a role in the offense this season. But that could change if the Jets add a wide receiver in the draft.

With Mims on the final year of his rookie deal, it might make sense for the Jets to add another young developmental wide receiver with more years of team control.

After all, Mims requested a trade less than a year ago. It seems pretty likely that the 2023 season is his final year with the Jets. There's still every chance that he's traded before the season even begins.

Those odds certainly increase if the Jets draft a wide receiver this year.
