The 2022 NFL Draft is deep at the safety position, with multiple prospects expected to fall off the board in the second and third rounds. The prospects’ ranking within the group will vary around the league, but Jaquan Brisker’s name belongs at or near the top of the list.

The former Nittany Lion was a consistent presence for the Big Ten power, polishing his craft as he accumulated more experience. With great size for the position (6-foot-1, 200 pounds), Brisker affects the game at every level.

Brisker’s calling card, however, is his instincts. He trusts his technique and has displayed the intellectual acumen to dissect plays and prevent significant gains for the opposing offense.

He is a capable run-defender who doesn’t shy away from contact in the run game. That toughness helps him as a tackler where he attacks through the whistle.

Brisker’s scheme-versatility should make him a hot target at the top of the second round. The Jets’ two picks in the round (No. 35 and No. 38) put them in a great spot to select the talented safety prospect.
