3. Zach Wilson, QB, NY Jets
Zach Wilson was likely already seen by most as a "bust" entering the 2023 season. The former No. 2 overall pick had been benched multiple times the previous season, including once for CFL quarterback Chris Streveler.
Still, there was at least a sliver of hope that he might still have a future with the organization. The Jets held onto Wilson as their QB2 going into the year, with the expectation that he would sit and learn behind one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.
2023 was supposed to be a redshirt season for Wilson. Instead, he was thrust into action just four plays into the season following Rodgers' torn Achilles. What followed was another season of league-worst quarterback play with Wilson under center.
Wilson did make some strides this past season. His performance in primetime against the Kansas City Chiefs was one of the best of his career, while his game against the Houston Texans was one of the best by a Jets quarterback in years.
Unfortunately, Wilson's inconsistencies were still a major issue. He finished the year with just eight touchdowns and seven interceptions in 12 games, once again getting benched, this time in favor of the abysmal Tim Boyle.
Wilson's time with the Jets is expected to come to an end in the coming weeks as the team explores trade opportunities. Perhaps he can turn his career around with a change of scenery, but he will undoubtedly go down as one of the biggest busts in Jets history.
