3. The NY Jets must control the middle of the field
Finally, the Browns are not going to beat you over the top in most instances. Jacoby Brissett is not a gunslinger and Amari Cooper does most of his damage in the medium route department.
If you’re the Jets in this matchup, you need to tighten up on the back end and keep everything in front. “Prevent defense” all day, every day with this Browns team. They want to run the ball and hit short routes to Cooper and the tight ends in the middle of the field.
If you're C.J. Mosley, Quincy Williams, Kwon Alexander, Lamarcus Joyner, or Jordan Whitehead, this is your game to control the middle of the field and make sure the Browns don't beat you either over the middle with the passing game or through the running game getting to the second level.
This is a highly winnable game for a Jets team nobody really gave any credit to last week for the job they did on the defensive side of the ball.
Lock down on defense again and get a few more plays going on the offensive side and I think we could very well be looking at a 1-1 Jets team hosting the defending AFC champs at home next week with a chance to go to 2-1.
