4. What is the biggest training camp storyline for this special teams unit?

Unfortunately for the Jets, the main special teams storyline for camp isn't a positive one, as it involves the reported 'very tight' battle between Eddy Pineiro and Greg Zuerlein for the vacant kicker spot on this team.

The Jets kickers struggled mightily a year ago, and if all reports are to be believed, Brant Boyer, the Jets special teams coach has a tough decision to make as the battle between these two is so close because neither has shined much at all.

Like 2021, the Jets' opening day kicker might not even be on the roster yet, as although both men have seen moderate success in the NFL (Zuerlein more than Pineiro), they just might not be up to scratch if the Jets want to win close games in the 2022 season.

5. Predictions for the 2022 NY Jets special teams?

The Jets special teams is definitely a case of night and day, as Braxton Berrios is considered one of the best returners in the game, while the Jets kicker position may be one of, if not the weakest spots in the league.

That's exactly how the season is shaping up too, as the kicking situation could once again be a constant struggle with plenty of turnover while Berrios maintains his hot run en route to yet another All-Pro selection as a kick returner.

Braden Mann and the punting situation will be passable, and while this may not excite many, it will do the job for the Jets to control field position. It would just be great if Mann could also kick field goals and fix the special teams' biggest problem.
