The New York Jets made the most obvious move that needed to be done this offseason which was moving on from Aaron Rodgers. They traded for them heading into the 2023 season and while the trade received a lot of hype for the team moving forward, in ended in a huge disaster.
Rodgers tore his achilles four plays into the 2023 season and then had a tough time being the same quarterback he once was and he completely let the Jets down. Now granted, it’s not his fault that the defense competely crumbled once Robert Saleh was fired. However, Rodgers didn’t deliver any big results himself either.
The Jets officially moved off of Rodgers and are bringing in Justin Fields to see if they can get great play out of the young quarterback who is just looking to thrive somewhere. Even though Rodgers is still a free agent, he is still finding his way into the media and it’s because there is a huge waiting game between him and the Pittsburgh Steelers, who desperately need a quarterback.
Rodgers visited the Steelers not too long ago and despite him being there for many hours, there was no deal made and now we are forced to watch a Rodgers-waiting game to Pittsburgh. However, we have a massive update regarding Rodgers that could put the Jets on track to get some revenge on him 2025.
Latest report all but confirms Jets may see Rodgers in 2025
According to Gerry Dulac, “Art Rooney II said he has a good feeling about Aaron Rodgers and the signs are “pointing in that direction” of him signing with Steelers.”
If this is indeed true and Rodgers does sign with the Steelers, then we may see a Rodgers vs. Jets matchup in 2025. Not only would the Jets see Rodgers, but they would see him in New York because the Steelers are visiting the Jets next season.
Rodgers running out onto the field in a Steelers uniform would be quite the scenery for not just just Jets fans, but the whole NFL. However, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Jets fans express their thoughts on Rodgers and how things went when he was their quarterback.
Even with this report, nothing is official until it’s signed, sealed, and delivered. When it comes to Rodgers, anything can change at any moment.
