The New York Jets finally picked up their second win of the season, defeating the Cleveland Browns 27-20. It was a much-needed win for a Jets team that had been through a lot recently, and a strong performance from the special teams and defense made it happen. Unfortunately, New York couldn’t escape the win without any bad news.
During the game, star receiver Garrett Wilson limped off the field after attempting to make a catch, and was eventually ruled out with a knee injury. On Monday, it was reported that Wilson is expected to be sidelined for 3-4 weeks with a knee sprain. That’s bad news for New York and it’s best player, as the team tries to build off this win.
Bad news for the #Jets offense: WR Garrett Wilson is expected to miss at least 3-4 weeks with a knee sprain, source says. Good news is no surgery, just rehab.

Jets receiver Garrett Wilson expected to miss multiple weeks with knee injury
This is the second time this season Wilson has injured his right knee, missing New York’s last two games already. The wide receiver had the Week 9 bye to get healthy, and just returned to the lineup on Sunday, but he will now be back on the sidelines. Without him, the Jets will have to navigate games against the New England Patriots, Baltimore Ravens, Atlanta Falcons, and possibly the Miami Dolphins.
This injury unfortunately continues what has been a nightmare season for Garrett Wilson. One of the game’s best wideouts, Wilson only has 36 receptions for 395 yards and four touchdowns in seven games this season. Wilson has been unable to post the kinds of numbers he’s capable of, the Jets have lost a lot of games, and the wide receiver has had to watch homegrown stars like Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams traded away.
Now, to make matters worse, he’ll likely be watching the game from the sideline for the next month. Of course, injury timelines are all predictions, so Wilson could come back sooner or later than the expected four weeks. But, if he misses four weeks exactly, he’ll return in Week 15 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. At that point of the season, New York have just four games left, and likey double-digit losses. Depending on how things look when that time arrives, there may be a conversation about sidelining Wilson for the season.
