The NY Jets, led by new GM Darren Mougey and head coach Aaron Glenn, brought in a widely praised 2025 NFL Draft class that should help give this team a foundation for long-term success if these picks hit their stride.

The Jets will likely be in for a long season based on internally developing many of their better young players, which could mean that many of the rookies will be in line for significant snaps early on.

When forecasting the future in store for a collection of young players that was held in very high regard across the league, it's very hard not to get excited about what this team could do if Mougey and Glenn's scouting eye proves to be quite keen.

NY Jets 2025 NFL Draft class projections

Round 1, Pick 7: RT Armand Membou

17 starts, PFF grade over 75.0

Membou has the ability to quickly become one of the preeminent right tackles in the AFC. While Membou's best traits are mauling opposing edge rushers as a run blocker, his ability to keep his quarterback upright due to great upper body strength and footwork will help him get off to a hot start in the pros.

Round 2, Pick 42: TE Mason Taylor

40 catches, 550 yards, 4 touchdowns

Taylor will immediately compete with Breece Hall, Josh Reynolds, and Allen Lazard to earn the second-most targets on the team behind Garrett Wilson. With reliable hands and terrific success securing tough catches over the middle, Justin Fields will be targeting him early and often.

Round 3, Pick 73: CB Azareye'h Thomas

15 tackles, 3 pass breakups, 1 INT

Thomas is likely going to be rooted to the bench as a rookie, as Brandon Stephens will be the No. 2 outside cornerback behind Sauce Gardner. However, Thomas could force his way into the starting lineup due to his tremendous physical toolbox.

Round 4, Pick 110: WR Arian Smith

8 catches, 175 yards, 2 rec TD, 10 carries, 75 yards, 1 rush TD

2025 will be a developmental year for Smith, who needs to learn a more complex route tree and fix his drop issues before he can use his game-breaking speed to full effect with the Jets.

Round 4, Pick 130: S Malachi Moore

22 tackles, 3 pass breakups, 1 FF, 1 INT

Not only will Moore's versatility get him some extra snaps early in his career, but his similarities to former Crimson Tide star and Glenn's star pupil Brian Branch could help him assimilate well into this Jets defense.

Round 5, Pick 162: LB Francisco Mauigoa

14 tackles, 1 pass breakup

Mauigoa will likely be a special teams dynamo who backs up Quincy Williams and Jamien Sherwood as a rookie, but he could use his athletic ability to hold his own if called into action on defense.

Round 5, Pick 176: EDGE Tyler Baron

16 tackles, 4 TFL, 3.5 sacks

Despite his draft status, Baron will get plenty of reps as a backup pass rusher during his rookie year. His pass rush pressure rate belies his sack total, which could lead to him emerging as a weapon on passing downs.
