Jets panic meter after extremely concerning Week 2 blowout loss

How concerned should fans be about Aaron Glenn, Justin Fields, and others?

Even though the New York Jets are 0-2, Aaron Glenn's first two games on the job as the team's new head coach have gone completely differently.

The Jets played out a spirited 34-32 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in a performance that was good enough to beat 80% of the teams in the league before getting hammered 30-10 by the Buffalo Bills in a game that was never competitive.

It's hard to know where the Jets stand ahead of a Week 3 road duel against Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Are they the team that went toe-to-toe with Aaron Rodgers or the one that looked out of their league against the Bills?

Should fans be panicking after a terrible performance, or is patience warranted for a young team still learning to win?

Jets panic meter after brutal Week 2 loss to Bills

QB Justin Fields: 5/10

Fields is a Jets fan Rorschach test right now. If you like him, point to Week 1 as evidence of his quality in this new offense. If you don't like him, Week 2 becomes Exhibit A. Fields had the best EPA per play performance of his career in Week 1, and the worst of his career in Week 2. Somewhere in the middle, the truth lies.

HC Aaron Glenn: 3/10

It should not be acceptable to get the stuffing beaten out of you at home against a division rival, and Glenn can't afford too many more of these. That being said, the players are still bought in, and Glenn knew that Year 1 was going to be a learning experience due to the lack of depth on the roster. Give the guy some time.

DE Micheal Clemons: 9/10

Clemons is a very bad player, and this has been known for a while. His roughing the passer penalty on third-and-19 and another anonymous day as a pass rusher were bad enough, but the Jets' comical lack of depth behind him means he will be out there in a prominent role once again in Week 3.

CB Brandon Stephens: 7/10

Stephens managed to quiet many of the fans calling for his head by putting together a respectable performance in Week 2 and allowing just three catches all game long. Still, Tampa Bay has a much better wide receiver room, which could put him right back in the crosshairs.

OC Tanner Engstrand: 2/10

Engstrand looked like the second coming in Week 1, but Fields was so pathetic in Week 2 that there was nothing he could have done to get the offense into gear last week. Maybe he shouldn't have abandoned the pass as quickly as he did, but Fields was giving him nothing.

DC Steve Wilks: 8/10

Wilks was viewed as the safer of the two coordinator hires due to his past coaching experience, but he has seen his defense get toasted in the first two weeks. Between his overreliance on Cover 1 and his refusal to change his scheme, Wilks is not instilling confidence in his competency.
