The New York Jets will limp into their Week 8 matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals nursing a number of injuries. The short-handed Jets are still looking for the first win of the Aaron Glenn era, and their lengthy Week 8 injury report isn't doing them any favors.
The Jets will be without quite a few regular starters this week, including their top two wide receivers in Garrett Wilson and Josh Reynolds. Wilson will miss his second consecutive game due to a knee injury, while Reynolds was placed on IR on Saturday with a quad injury.
All-Pro cornerback Sauce Gardner is also set to miss this week due to a concussion he sustained in the team's Week 7 loss to the Carolina Panthers. Gardner has been playing his best football recently, but the Jets will have to manage without him against the star receiver duo of Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.
The likes of kick returner/running back Kene Nwangwu (concussion), tight end Stone Smartt (quad), and defensive tackle Jay Tufele (knee) have also all been ruled out for Week 8.
Meanwhile, running back Breece Hall (knee), tight end Mason Taylor (quad), and linebacker Quincy Williams (shoulder) are all listed as questionable entering the game. The belief is that all three should be able to suit up and play.
The Bengals have ruled out backup defensive end Cedric Johnson, who remains on IR due to a calf injury. Backup center Matt Lee (knee), defensive end Cameron Sample (knee), and cornerback Marco Wilson (hamstring) are all listed as doubtful.
Star edge rusher Trey Hendrickson is questionable with a hip injury but expected to make his return after a one-week absence. His return should provide a major boost to a beaten-up Bengals defensive end room.
Who are the official inactives for both the Jets and the Bengals today? We've got you covered.

- CB Sauce Gardner
- RB/KR Kene Nwangwu
- DT Jay Tufele
- TE Stone Smartt
- WR Garrett Wilson
- QB Tyrod Taylor
- LB Kobe King
Six of the seven Jets inactives this week are due to injury. Star cornerback Sauce Gardner is out with a concussion and is expected to be replaced by rookie Azareye'h Thomas in the starting lineup. Backup Qwan'tez Stiggers and nickel Michael Carter II will return from injury this week as well.
Kick returner Kene Nwangwu is also out with a concussion, while Breece Hall is active despite being listed as questionable with a knee injury. The Jets' running backs today will be Hall, Isaiah, Davis, and Khalil Herbert. Expect Isaiah Williams and possibly Herbert to fill in for Nwangwu as kick returners.
Defensive tackle Jay Tufele is out this week with a knee injury. The Jets elevated undrafted rookie Payton Page from their practice squad, and he will make his NFL debut today in Tufele's place.
It's possible we also see the Jets debut of tight end Jelani Woods, who is active for only the second time this season in place of the injured Stone Smartt (quad). Although considering Smartt has only played one offensive snap this year, don't expect to see much of Woods on offense.
Projected starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor was a late scratch on Saturday and didn't make the trip with the team to Cincinnati due to a knee injury. Justin Fields will start, while undrafted rookie Brady Cook was elevated for the second time this year to serve as his backup.
Linebacker Kobe King, who was claimed off waivers by the Jets on Friday, is the only healthy scratch.

The Bengals will be without three key depth pieces in backup offensive lineman Matt Lee, defensive end Cameron Sample, and cornerback Marco Wilson. The good news is that Cincinnati will return Trey Hendrickson after a one-week absence due to a hip injury.
Tight end Tanner Hudson is also back in the lineup after missing last week with a concussion. Backup tight end Cam Grandy is inactive as a result.
