The New York Jets enter their Week 5 matchup with the Cleveland Browns in desperate need of a win to snap a three-game losing streak. Another loss today, and things could get late real early in Florham Park.
Vibes have plummeted in Jets circles following the team's 23-12 demolition at the hands of the Chicago Bears a week ago in a game where the final score absolutely doesn't tell the full story. The Jets will hope to return some optimism against a Browns team that's exceeded expectations so far in 2026.
Cleveland enters this matchup with a 3-1 record, having won their third game in a row last week in a thrilling Thursday night division battle with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Todd Monken has the Browns offense firing on all cylinders and is solidifying his status as an early candidate for Coach of the Year.
The Jets will unfortunately be shorthanded once again in this week's game, primarily on the offensive side of the ball. RB Breece Hall (quad), WR Adonai Mitchell (finger), left guard Dylan Parham (knee), and LB Kiko Mauigoa (quad) have all been ruled out for another game.
Two other key defensive players are listed as questionable after missing some time in practice this past week. Edge rushers Kingsley Enagbare (knee) and Will McDonald (calf) will be game-time decisions, with the latter popping up on the injury report as a limited participant on Friday.
McDonald's status is very much in doubt, though Enagbare seems to be trending toward playing after returning as a full participant in Friday's practice. The ex-Packers edge defender missed last week's game due to injury.
The Jets will see the return of tight end Mason Taylor (thumb) and wide receiver Tim Patrick (groin), who are both expected to play today. Patrick was activated off the injured reserve on Saturday after missing the first four games of the season. Cornerback Jarvis Brownlee Jr. also cleared concussion protocol and is expected to play.
The Browns have ruled out five of their own players, as Cleveland will be without star DT Mason Graham (knee/ankle), DT Mike Hall Jr. (ankle), OG Teven Jenkins (back), TE Carsen Ryan (calf), and WR Tylan Wallace (knee). Graham was injured in last week's game and is a sizable loss for this Browns defense.
Backup quarterback Dillon Gabriel (back) and defensive tackle Kalia Davis (quad) have both been ruled out as well, though each player remains on the injured reserve.
Who are the official inactives for both the Jets and the Browns today? We've got you covered.

- RB Breece Hall
- WR Adonai Mitchell
- LG Dylan Parham
- LB Kiko Mauigoa
- CB Nahshon Wright
- EDGE Nate Lynn
Breece Hall is set to miss his second game in a row due to a quad injury. Braelon Allen will once again lead the Jets' backfield alongside Isaiah Davis, although the latter only played two offensive snaps a week ago. Kick returner Kene Nwangwu is the only other healthy running back dressed for today's game.
The Jets will be down wide receiver Adonai Mitchell for a third consecutive game due to a finger injury. The good news is that veteran Tim Patrick was activated from IR on Saturday and will provide reinforcements alongside Garrett Wilson, Isaiah Williams, and Malik McClain. Sterling Shepard was not elevated from the practice squad this week.
Left guard Dylan Parham will miss another game after suffering a knee injury a few weeks ago. Jordan Meredith will make another start at left guard, with Kohl Levao serving as the lone backup interior offensive lineman.
Backup linebacker Kiko Mauigoa is out again due to a quad injury. The Jets elevated undrafted rookie Jaden Keller from the practice squad for the second week in a row, and he will provide linebacker depth alongside Troy Reeder and Trevin Wallace.
Cornerback Nahshon Wright is once again a healthy scratch and has yet to appear in a game this season. Wright is the Jets' top backup outside cornerback, but he doesn't play special teams, so he won't be active unless either Brandon Stephens or Azareye'h Thomas misses time.
Nate Lynn is a healthy scratch this week, as both Kingsley Enagbare and Will McDonald are active despite being listed as questionable. The Jets have been running a five-man edge rotation each week, but not this week, as Lynn will have to wait to make his NFL debut.
Full inactives list for Cleveland Browns in Week 5
- DT Mason Graham
- DT Mike Hall Jr.
- OG Teven Jenkins
- TE Carsen Ryan
- WR Tylan Wallace
- QB Taylen Green (emergency QB)
- OL Parker Brailsford
The Browns will be thin on the interior of their defensive line, as both Mason Graham and Mike Hall Jr. suffered injuries in last week's game. Graham was starting to emerge as one of Cleveland's most impactful players, so his absence is a major loss.
The Browns elevated defensive tackles Sam Kamara and Chris Williams from their practice squad to provide additional depth behind Malik Collins and Adin Huntington, a second-year UDFA making his first career NFL start. The Jets should be able to run the ball today.
Cleveland will once again be without projected starting right guard Teven Jenkins (back), who has yet to play this year. Rookie third-round pick Austin Barber, who has played well in his absence, will make another start.
Backup tight end Carsen Ryan (calf) and backup wide receiver/special-teamer Tylan Wallace (knee) are also out today. The Browns have just two healthy tight ends available in today's game: Harold Fannin Jr. and Blake Whiteheart.
