The NY Jets will likely be showing a ton of interest in Oregon quarterback and potential No. 2 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, Dante Moore, even after a subpar showing against Indiana in the Peach Bowl against Indiana. However, they must hope the 20-year-old with years of eligibility remaining declares for the NFL Draft.
Despite the news that the Ducks will retain the services of two projected Top 50 picks in defensive tackle A'Mauri Washington and pass rusher Matayo Uiagalelei, their most recent quarterback update could be what ends up pushing Moore out of town and into the professional ranks.
According to Pete Nakos and On3, former Nebraska quarterback and 5-star recruit Dylan Raiola has committed to Oregon as a transfer. Considering his pedigree, it seems very unlikely that Moore would leave the Cornhuskers to sit on the bench for a year and wait his turn.
With Raiola coming to town and Moore's offensive coordinator, Will Stein, leaving after being named the head coach at Kentucky, there are fewer and fewer reasons for Moore to avoid the temptation of the pros. He may be one step closer to wearing Jets green.
Jets QB target Dante Moore may join NFL Draft after Dylan Raiola transfer
Raiola completed 72% of his passes last season, throwing 18 touchdowns against six interceptions despite a poor offensive line. Raiola, the son of former Detroit Lions center Dominic Raiola, is expected to be one of the top prospects in the loaded 2027 quarterback class.
While Raiola could mimic Moore by sitting for a year before starting as a senior, Moore's transfer came after a rough time at UCLA where he needed to work on refining his rough edges. Raiola transferring could be a sign that Moore is ready to leave Eugene behind and come declare for the pros.
If Moore comes out, the Jets could be in a win-win situation. If they like him as a prospect, he could be their next quarterback of the future. If they do not, they can sell the pick to the highest bidder and build the rest of the roster with the ammunition they acquired.
No matter what the Jets end up doing at quarterback, it would benefit Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey if Moore were in this draft, and Raiola's commitment to Oregon gives Dan Lanning a succession plan that could enable the young starlet's jump to the pros.
