The NY Jets fanbase may need to stomach an AFC Championship game featuring Josh Allen and Drake Maye if things go a certain way, but one thing they won't have to endure is Aaron Rodgers trying to rub it in their faces with a deep playoff run.

Not only did the Pittsburgh Steelers look pathetic in a 30-6 loss against the Houston Texans' tremendous defense, but Rodgers himself looked every bit of 42 years old. Rather than going out as a conquering hero, Rodgers' final game may have been one of the worst of his career.

Rodgers completed just 17 of his 33 passes for 146 yards, turning it over twice: he lost the ball on a Will Anderson sack and threw a pick-six that iced the game for Houston. His success rate and epa per play performance were the worst for any playoff quarterback in the last 10 years.

After weeks of ceaseless mockery from opposing fanbases, Jets fans can relish this one small victory. Rodgers appears ready to hang it up, denying him the sweet championship revenge he wanted to hold over his former employer.

Rodgers may have thrown 24 touchdowns against seven interceptions, but those numbers are fool's gold. His EPA numbers went down the drain, he has the shortest average depth of target in the league, and he lost the sack avoidance ability that made him elite in his prime.

Those who would have wanted Rodgers back for one more season would have been OK with absorbing that level of stinky quarterback play in addition to a monstrous dead cap hit this offseason. The team would have won a couple more games and cost themselves a prime draft pick, all while likely depriving themselves of the extra selections from their midseason trades.

Rodgers making the playoffs thanks to everyone else in that division putting a proverbial 12-gauge to their heads and Tyler Loop missing a game-winning kick was not indicative of how good he was this year, and the Jets made the right call by booting him out of town.

Rodgers' performance with the Jets wasn't pitiful, but considering how he came to town with Super Bowl expectations and won just five games while setting the locker room on fire and causing trouble that is still handicapping this team, no one should have any lingering feelings for the future Hall of Famer.
