That noise you hear is New York Jets fans groaning, remembering that the final weeks before training camp mean that it’s listicle and countdown season.
Granted, the frequent deep dives and rankings go up throughout the offseason, but the lack of OTAs means we’re limited in actual football news.
CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco got an early jump on the annual top-100 lists we’ll see leaguewide, though no Jets players made his list.
Perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised following last year’s Sauce Gardner (No. 48 on Prisco’s list) and Quinnen Williams (No. 54) trades.
However, although Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall were omitted, let’s hold off before we claim that either was “snubbed.”
No, CBS Sports didn’t snub Breece Hall from its top-100 players list
Wilson absolutely should have cracked Prisco’s list, and we’re not sure how Nico Collins (No. 79), Drake London (No. 96), and Malik Nabers (No. 99) all made it instead.
We can excuse Tee Higgins (No. 89) appearing in the top 100, though he should have been higher than Collins.
Hall is an interesting conversation, though, partly because he wasn’t the most notable running back left off Prisco’s rankings.
Prisco went with eight running backs: Bijan Robinson (No. 17), Christian McCaffrey (No. 19), Jahmyr Gibbs (No. 21), Jonathan Taylor (No. 32), James Cook (No. 34), De’Von Achane (No. 44), Derrick Henry (No. 45), and Saquon Barkley (No. 47).
Kyren Williams was nowhere to be found, though.
Given that The Jet Press is, well, a Jets-oriented site, we won’t spend too much time getting into Williams’ case.
However, his omission is extremely egregious. If Williams couldn’t make it after recording 1,533 yards (1,252 rushing and 281 receiving) and 13 touchdowns from scrimmage, then what hope did Hall have?
We’re not sure how or why Prisco decided that eight running backs warranted inclusion within the first 47 picks, but none deserved a spot after Barkley.
Of course, there’s the argument that these lists are designed for nothing more than clicks or reactions. Look no further than the NFL’s annual Top 100, which frequently makes no sense and lacks a coherent voting method.
We’ll see whether Hall lands on the NFL’s Top 100, though we’re already skeptical. The league had already announced the first X picks as of publication, and Hall hadn’t appeared yet.
As of July 2026, Hall has never made the NFL’s official Top 100 list.
