There aren't many other NFL teams that consistently get to be the butt of jokes like the New York Jets.
It's not without reason. The Jets have the worst record in all of football since 2020, going 28-73 since the turn of the decade. They haven't had a winning season since 2015 and haven't sniffed the playoffs since 2010, one of the longest streaks in all of North American sports.
But Jets fans are well aware of all those facts, and they don't need reminders about their team's ineptitudes and struggles. However, sometimes, opposing fans, analysts, and players like to remind the Jets that they're at the bottom of the totem pole.
Cameron Jordan trolls Jets with playoff quote
New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan was asked if New Orleans could be on track for a deep playoff run in 2026, considering the emergence of quarterback Tyler Shough and their strong play to finish the season last year. He answered the question, but took the opportunity to take a shot at the Jets.
"I hope so. Isn't that the goal? Ain't nobody going the whole offseason, thinking like, man, I hope we just win three games. I'll leave that to the Jets."Cameron Jordan
Thanks, Cameron Jordan. Way to kick a team while they're down.
It's not like New York has ever done anything to the Saints or their former Pro Bowl defensive end to warrant that kind of heat coming in their direction. He just felt like taking a shot at the Jets.
If we're going to play that game, though, New Orleans hasn't sniffed the playoffs in a few years either. Despite having a more recent winning season, the Saints haven't made the playoffs since 2020, when Drew Brees and Sean Payton were still at the helm.
Maybe Jordan should focus less on the Jets' record and make sure his Saints keep improving. New York may have the worst record in the league since 2020, but the Saints don't exactly have a winning program either.
New Orleans is 49-54 since 2020, and while every Jets fan would kill for a record like that, it's not exactly inspiring all the confidence in the world.
One of these days, the Jets won't be the butt of the joke anymore, but until then, fans are just going to have to grin and bear it.
