New York Jets running back Breece Hall has found himself at the center of trade rumors as the team approaches the 2025 NFL Draft. The recent trade chatter reached a fever pitch on Sunday following a report from ESPN's Rich Cimini.

Cimini floated the idea that the Jets could consider trading Breece Hall if Boise State star Ashton Jeanty is available at No. 7 in this year’s draft. While it came off more as speculation than a firm report, that hasn’t stopped the rumor mill from spinning.

Jets fans have been buzzing about the possibility of Hall being on the trade block, enough that the rumors caught his attention, prompting what appeared to be a response on social media.

Hall posted a cryptic image on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, seemingly in response to his name surfacing in recent trade rumors. You can take a look for yourself below.

Since being selected in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Hall has been one of the few consistent bright spots for the Jets' offense.

He flashed star potential as a rookie before an ACL tear cut his debut season short, but he bounced back with an impressive 2023 campaign that cemented his status as one of the league’s most dynamic young backs.

In 2024, Hall’s production dipped slightly, due in part to lackluster quarterback play and an inconsistent offensive line. Still, the noticeable drop in both output and efficiency has led some to question his long-term future in New York.

At just 23 years old, Hall is still viewed by many as a foundational piece of the Jets’ offense. But with a new offensive coaching staff in town and potential changes looming in the draft, nothing feels guaranteed, especially with trade speculation now swirling.

The growing sentiment around the NFL is that the Jets' new regime — headed by head coach Aaron Glenn and offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand — isn't nearly as high on Hall as many fans seem to be. It goes beyond Glenn's recent comments, too.

Hall is entering the final year of his rookie contract and is coming off the worst season of his NFL career. He averaged just 4.2 yards per carry and struggled with ball security, finishing the year with six fumbles and nine drops after recording just three fumbles total in his first two seasons.

We've seen countless examples of young stars peaking early, only to see their production decline just a few years later. It's a position where longevity is rare, and teams are often forced to make tough decisions before a player’s value starts to fade. The Jets may be at the crossroads with Hall.

Whether the trade rumors carry any real weight or not, Hall’s future in New York certainly feels less certain than ever.
