The New York Jets have moved forward with a new quarterback for the 2025 season, but Aaron Rodgers is still looking to find his new home. The former Jets QB remains uncertain about his NFL future as we approach the end of March.

Rodgers is said to be mulling offers from both the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants while holding out hope for a possible union with the Minnesota Vikings. The process has been a slow one, but it took a major step forward on Friday.

Reports confirmed that Rodgers made his first official visit of the offseason on Friday, meeting with the Steelers at their team facility. While some outlets have reported that no deal is imminent, at least one insider sees things differently.

The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported Friday afternoon that "it’s possible an agreement is reached today." Rodgers has since left the Steelers facility according to multiple reports, but it seems the process has quickly picked up.

Aaron Rodgers could sign with the Steelers soon

Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer detailed the specifics of Rodgers' meeting with the Steelers brass. Rodgers reportedly spent time with general manager Omar Khan, head coach Mike Tomlin, and offensive coordinator Arthur Smith.

While no deal has been reached at this time, Breer insists that there was "no expectation that would happen today." Rodgers and the Steelers will remain in touch as he continues to assess his options.

This is the most significant step toward Rodgers finding a new home that we've seen this offseason. The Steelers and Giants have taken turns courting the four-time MVP, but this is the first time he's met with an NFL team in an official capacity.

The Vikings appear to be the wild card in the Rodgers sweepstakes. Minnesota is determined to build around J.J. McCarthy and would prefer that he begins the year as the team's starter, but they haven't ruled out a Rodgers addition at some point in the future. For now, though, they're sticking with McCarthy.

Rodgers appears to favor the Vikings as a landing spot, and it’s easy to see why, given the strength of Minnesota’s offense and coaching staff. It might be his most appealing destination on paper, but so far, the interest doesn’t seem to be mutual.

The Steelers and Giants have been patient with Rodgers so far, but they can only wait so long. Both teams have begun looking at contingency plans if they are unable to land the future Hall of Fame quarterback.

As for the Jets, they’re likely feeling fortunate to avoid another offseason filled with Aaron Rodgers drama. They know who their quarterback will be in 2025, and for now, that’s good enough for them.
