Right now, there's arguably no bigger pain in New York Jets fans' side than Aaron Glenn. They were hoping for the start of a turnaround in 2026, and instead, they're in the midst of a three-game losing streak and just lost a game in a similar fashion to the listless 2025 version of the team.

Heading into Week 5, it's fair to say that Glenn's seat is getting warm. His 4-17 record is among the worst of past head coaches like Robert Saleh and Rich Kotite. He's running out of time to prove he's the right guy to turn this team around, and several more losses may wind up sealing his fate.

But that decision isn't on Jets fans. As everything is within the organization, the onus ultimately falls on owner Woody Johnson, and all indications before the season suggested that Johnson and Glenn are on the same page and share a healthy relationship. But that was before the 1-3 start.

Where is Glenn and Johnson's relationship now? Have the cries of Jets fans everywhere affected how Johnson feels about his head coach? Or is everything still all good over in Florham Park?

Aaron Glenn says he and Woody Johnson 'speak' after every game

This past week, Glenn was asked about Johnson and how he feels about the Jets' current losing streak, and it seems like the head coach and owner still have a pretty clear, open dialogue with one another.

“Very positive conversations. I can say we speak after the games all the time and he gives me his thoughts," Glenn told reporters via The New York Post. "I give him the rundown of how things go and I mean, that’s the beauty of our relationship is being able to have open dialogue with each other, throwing everything on the table. There’s also a trust factor there.”

It seems that, despite the way the Jets have started the year, Glenn isn't in danger of getting fired just yet. Outside of Saleh, New York has never fired a coach midseason, and that was a special case. The Jets' current coach is likely safe until at least the end of the year.

The next few games will be pivotal in determining whether Glenn keeps his job in 2027. With the Cleveland Browns, New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins, and Las Vegas Raiders on deck, Glenn needs to at least go 2-2 to resemble any sense of competence.

If not, then there will have to be some conversation about Glenn's job security, regardless of how good the communication is between him and the owner.
