This was way overblown.

There are a lot of things New York Jets fans can disparage their head coach for. Aaron Glenn's tenure has been far from perfect over the last season, but the fact that some fans are trying to pile on him because of a 30-second interview after halftime of Sunday's game against the New England Patriots is just flat-out silly.

Coming out of the tunnel at Gillette Stadium, Glenn stopped for a quick interview with CBS sideline reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala, and it appeared that the head coach mistakenly told her that the Jets would be getting the ball coming out of halftime.

“I told our guys, ‘We’re moving the ball. The thing is, we just have to finish...' Our guys will be ready to go. The good thing is we get the ball. We get a chance to go move it and finish.”

If you were a level-headed fan watching Sunday's game, you probably heard the exchange and thought nothing of it. Of course, there's a sect out there that believes Glenn was actually unaware of the fact that New England was receiving the ball to start the second half, and mercilessly clowned the head coach because of it.

Aaron Glenn clarifies what he was talking about after halftime vs. Patriots

Speaking with reporters at his Monday morning press conference, Glenn was asked about the halftime comments controversy and clarified what he was referring to. On the Jets' official YouTube channel, they blacked out the response, but the New York Post was kind enough to share a transcript.

"No, I actually talked about just the offense... Then when the defense gets back on, we want to make sure we stop them and get the ball back to our offense. That’s what I was talking about when it comes to that. The conversation was talking about the offense at that time.”

Considering all the other factors, such as the team cutting off Glenn's response on the official feed, it's easy to assume that the head coach seriously forgot which team was starting with the ball at halftime.

But if you go back and really listen to the interview, Glenn was clearly talking about when the offense gets the ball. Not that they were about to get the ball.

If Jets fans want something to complain about, there are plenty of other facets of Sunday's game they can try to dunk on him for, such as the invisible pass rush. But a quick comment coming out of halftime? Come on.
