4 Jets making their old teams look ridiculous in training camp

The New York Jets' roster looks nothing like the one Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey inherited, as they have gone all-in on trying to add veteran leaders and playmakers who will give them more of a floor in 2026.

The Jets have looked about as sharp as one can expect from a team starting Geno Smith under center after a 3-14 campaign, as some injuries hurting their prized NFL Draft class have been offset by many of the big-name offseason additions coming to town and instantly validating the decision to take a chance on them.

These four players may be newcomers to the Jets, but they could become fan favorites if they keep up their preseason and training camp performances. Their old teams might be kicking themselves for letting them end up in Jets green.

4. OG Dylan Parham

The Jets chose to swap out John Simpson for Parham. Not only did they save a bit of money on their respective contracts, but Parham appears to be the superior player.

The former Las Vegas Raiders guard has graded out as a rock-solid guard throughout some preseason action, and fans haven't heard his name much in camp. For an offensive lineman, that is ideal.

3. EDGE Kingsley Enagbare

Enagbare went into the year as the fourth edge rusher on the depth chart behind David Bailey, Will McDonald, and fellow free-agent addition Joseph Ossai. After training camp, Enagbare may have performed so well that he forced his way into a bigger role.

The ex-Green Bay Packers pass rusher looks to have more juice off the edge than the Jets perhaps anticipated.

2. S Dane Belton

The former New York Giants defensive back came into camp as a depth piece who was primed to star on special teams, and he has come out of it as perhaps the favorite to start alongside Minkah Fitzpatrick as one of the top safeties on the roster.

Belton has been so good that Andre Cisco has become a curse word among this fanbase, and Malachi Moore isn't factoring into the team's plans at all. Not bad for a player who arrived on a cheap one-year deal.

1. WR Adonai Mitchell

Mitchell may not be a 2026 offseason acquisition, but the Indianapolis Colts probably regret making him a throw-in as part of the Sauce Gardner trade every day. As they struggle with wide receiver injuries, Mitchell has very clearly staked his claim to the role of No. 2 wide receiver in this offense.

Mitchell has been on the receiving end of plenty of deep passes from Geno Smith, showing he will provide the verticality in Frank Reich's offense.
