The NY Jets did not wait long to lock up their first starting quarterback of the Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey era. After being exiled from the Chicago Bears and starting to show flashes with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Justin Fields will get one last crack at being a starter.

Fields agreed to a two-year contract with the Jets that is worth $40 million in total and $30 million in his first season. Essentially, the Jets are taking a risk on him for 2025 while leaving the door open for a return in 2026 if he ends up proving that he has turned a corner as a passer.

If Fields ends up taking the step forward the Jets think he can, look for these three players on the offensive end to get massive boosts to their production. Given his immense physical talent, this may be the year where all the puzzle pieces finally click together for him.

3. Tight end to be named later

The Jets don't seem too keen on bringing back Tyler Conklin, but the free agent market outside of him is quite thin. No matter what Glenn and Mougey end up doing at this position, Fields could be the type of player who targets his tight end early and often.

In his six starts with Fields (which came in a passing attack limited in scope under Arthur Smith), Pat Freiermuth's per-game averages would put him on pace for 62 catches and six touchdowns in a 17-game season. Be it a veteran or 2025 NFL Draft pick, this mystery tight end could thrive in an offense similar to the one who turned Sam LaPorta into a star.

2. RB Breece Hall

Hall didn't have the superstar third season many expected, but the Jets constructed their offense specifically to let Aaron Rodgers throw the ball 35 times per game. The Jets are going to be a run-first team with Fields under center, and Hall could stand to benefit from that move.

Fields is not just a good athlete; he's a great one who has a 1,100-yard rushing season (something Breece Hall has never done) under his belt. Fields and Hall will be the bread and butter of this Jets offense, as the running game got a major upgrade.

1. WR Garrett Wilson

Wilson may have upset the apple cart a bit when rumors started to leak that hinted at a trade request, but the Jets' decision to run it back with the 2020 Ohio State offense could be a move that helps No. 5 feel better about committing his short-term NFL future to the Jets.

Wilson is the WR1 on a team that doesn't even have a WR2 at the moment. Fields and Wilson may end up playing buddyball to the point where Wilson will likely end the season as one of the most targeted players in the league. Wilson's stock could skyrocket with his old Buckeye triggerman back in town.
