3 cornerbacks (not named Terrion Arnold) Jets should pursue after latest rumors

The Jets could still use some CB help.

The New York Jets are reportedly interested in the most unusual and radioactive source of outside cornerback help, as they are one of four teams that are reportedly doing homework on former Detroit Lions first-round pick Terrion Arnold.

The Lions released Arnold as he faces multiple felony kidnapping and armed robbery charges that could incur a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted.

While the Jets have a connection to Arnold, as head coach Aaron Glenn was the defensive coordinator in Detroit when Arnold was drafted in 2024, there are better ways to get cornerback depth on the outside behind Brandon Stephens, Azareye'h Thomas, and Nahshon Wright.

These three defensive backs are still on the market, could give the Jets a boost at outside or inside cornerback, and will come with an immeasurably less amount of baggage than someone like Arnold. Just save yourself the PR headache that would come with Arnold, Jets.

3 cornerbacks (not named Terrion Arnold) Jets must pursue

3. Jalyn Armour-Davis

A former depth piece with the Baltimore Ravens, Armour-Davis managed to get a starting opportunity handed to him when former Ravens coach Dennard Wilson took the Tennessee Titans defensive coordinator job. He started 10 games, but was largely unimpressive and has yet to latch on with a team due to his Achilles injury

Armour-Davis might be the most realistic signing, as he could light a little bit of a fire under Jarvis Brownlee and Qwan'tez Stiggers while allowing the heavy hitters to compete for a starting role. Ravens fans may laugh at this, but they laughed at Stephens' contract, and he was better than many expected.

2. Jalen Mills

Mills, who offers both safety and cornerback versatility, spent last season with the Texans and Lions as an inactive depth piece. His last recorded action in an NFL game came with the Jets in 2024, and he was one of the better performers on a disappointing defense. Does he have enough juice in the tank for one more go-around?

On a young team that could do with another veteran to show them the way, adding Mills to the mix for next to nothing could represent some solid value.

1. Kenny Moore

Moore is a very unlikely signing, as the former high-end slot cornerback may try to join a team with their eyes on a championship prize. This also could prevent D'Angelo Ponds from getting some snaps as a rookie. However, the Jets are not in a position to turn down talented players, meaning any Moore interest should be reciprocated.

Moore is a long shot, but even getting 75% of prime Colts Moore would be a tremendous victory for this front office.
