Round 6, 186th Overall, NY Jets: Hamsah Nasirildeen, LB, Florida State

What was not a reach, however, was the selection of former Florida State safety Hamsah Nasirildeen in the sixth round. Nasirildeen was seen by many as a Day 2 prospect with some even having him as a top-75 player in the class.

The Jets plan to use Nasirildeen at linebacker and don’t be surprised if he emerges from training camp as the team’s starting WILL. He has excellent size at 6-foot-3, 216 pounds, and could be a force as a downhill run-stopper.

Nasirildeen should compete for snaps on defense early in his career making this the best Day 3 selection for the Jets.
