Round 4, 107th Overall, NY Jets: Michael Carter, RB, North Carolina

Are we being too positive here? It feels like we’re being too positive. Nonetheless, the Jets made it 4-for-4 on offensive players and 4-for-4 on superb picks with the selection of North Carolina running back here in Round 4.

Carter was seen as more of a Day 2 prospect, but the Jets managed to land him here at the beginning of Day 3. And you’d be hard-pressed to find a better scheme fit at the running back position in this class.

Carter blends excellent vision with outstanding agility, outside speed, and natural pass-catching abilities. He’ll be an immediate contributor as part of the Jets’ running back committee with the chance to take over as the “lead back” early in his career.

From both a value and scheme fit perspective, this pick was a home run for Gang Green.
