NY Jets land Zach Wilson, star pass-rusher in 7-round 2021 NFL Mock Draft
By Justin Fried
The NY Jets are less than two weeks away from ushering in a new era for the organization. The new coaching staff is already in place. Soon they will be joined by a new quarterback.
We’ve been running these mocks drafts almost weekly since the very beginning of October. At this point, we’ve probably pushed out close to two dozen over the course of the last half-year.
But now that we’re just 11 days away from the start of the 2021 NFL Draft, at the time of writing, the anticipation has reached a boiling point. However, that anticipation isn’t necessarily about what the Jets will do with their first selection.
Following the trade of Sam Darnold, it seems obvious to most that the Jets will select a quarterback second overall — that quarterback being BYU’s Zach Wilson. But what happens after that?
That’s when the fun really starts.
With holes up and down the roster, general manager Joe Douglas will have his hands full as he attempts to reshape the organization and set the team up for future success.
It won’t be an easy task, but with 10 total draft picks, including five inside the top-90, Douglas certainly has the draft capital to make some serious changes.
As always, we will be using The Draft Network’s Mock Machine to semi-accurately run through one possible scenario that could unfold at the end of the month.
With that, let’s take a look at our latest seven-round 2021 NFL Mock Draft now under two weeks out from draft day.
