In a contest next month, New York Jets wide receiver Robby Anderson will have the chance to take home the title of NFL’s fastest player.

In an event not affiliated with the league, “40 Yards of Gold” will feature 22 of the NFL’s fastest players competing on June 29th for bragging rights.

Anderson will be joined by a host of other NFL stars from both sides of the ball.

Offensive players taking part in the event are New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara, Baltimore Ravens running back Mark Ingram, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jeff Badet, New York Giants wide receiver Corey Coleman, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Richie James, Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Damiere Byrd, New York Giants wide receiver Kevin Snead, New Orleans Saints wide receiver Ted Ginn, Jr., Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Christian Blake and free agent wide receiver Jacoby Ford.

On the defensive side of the ball, the event will feature free agent cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Minnesota Vikings cornerback Trae Waynes, Tennessee Titans safety Kevin Byard, Chicago Bears cornerback John Franklin III, Washington Redskins cornerback Quinton Dunbar, Miami Dolphins linebacker Jerome Baker, Arizona Cardinals defensive back Budda Baker, free agent cornerback Jalen Myrick, Carolina Panthers cornerback Donte Jackson, free agent cornerback Charles James II (most recently with the Memphis Express of the now-defunct Alliance of American Football) and two free agent cornerbacks who were recently members of the Jets in Rashard Robinson and Terrell Sinkfield.

There will also be a “mystery participant” from each side of the ball.

Seeding for the tournament will be determined by fan voting, which ends Sunday.
