In this 2019 NFL Draft profile, we take a look at the strengths, weaknesses, and highlights of offensive tackle Greg Little out of the University of Mississippi.

When Greg Little started out on his college football journey, he was the No.1 prospect in his home state of Texas. Little was also the No. 3 recruit in the country.

Little played in every game that season of the 2016 season. However, he only started in five games during his true freshmen year.

He did, however, start all games his sophomore and junior year, it’s no wonder he was a first-team All-SEC honoree in 2018. His honors and awards also include second-team All-SEC in 2017. While he was in high school, Little received USA Today High School All-American twice.

STRENGTHS

Little is very athletic and has a nice skill set. He is fast and has great footwork. He is flexible and bends at the knee. Little’s height, weight, and length are ideal for the position. He’s great at offsetting speed rushers. He knows how to protect his quarterback and can make a significant impact against edge rushers. He is also very quick to get to linebackers on running plays. He’s smart and understands how to read his opponents.

WEAKNESSES

Little needs to get stronger. His hands are weak and it seems as though he is scared to make contact with defenders; he waits for them to come to him. He’s unpredictable at times. He needs to become more of a threat. He gets bull rushed, and ultimately receives holding penalties. He doesn’t have good balance. His upper and lower body aren’t in sync, which decreases his power and leverage.

NEW YORK JETS PREDICTION

Little is going to have to show out at the combine. RIght now he’s a difficult choice. Sometimes he lacks excitement and work ethic, and other times he’s terrific. If the Jets trade their No. 3 pick, they will lose the opportunity to draft Jonah Williams, which is good for Little. As of now, he is projected to be picked in the first-round between 10-16 in the 2019 NFL Draft.
