With Week 8 upon us, here’s this week’s edition of top 5 wide receivers to start in fantasy football.

The Week 7 edition of top five wide receivers to start in fantasy football only saw two of the five listed players end up as top 10 scorers in ESPN PPR Standard scoring leagues.

Adam Thielen finished with 26 points against the New York Jets. Tyreek Hill didn’t have a huge day, but he still came away with 20.6 points.

Michael Thomas, A.J. Green, and Julio Jones were on the outside looking in. Thomas ended his day with 19.9, Green was right behind him with 18.7 and Jones continued his touchdown drought with 17.4 points.

Who makes this week’s list? Let’s see who are the top wide receivers to start in Week 8 fantasy football.

5. Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Mike Evans was a must-start when Ryan Fitzpatrick was calling the shots as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers starting quarterback. Since then, he has struggled to find chemistry with Jameis Winston.

Well, until now. Evans finally broke out of his little two-week slump with seven catches and 107 yards during the Bucs overtime win over the Cleveland Browns.

Evans came away with 17.7 points, which is progress back towards his usual 20+ point self. This week’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals will look to continue that trend.

The Bengals haven’t been too good when it comes to holding opposing wide receivers in check. Evans may be in for a big one in Cincy.

Next: 4. Davante Adams

4. Davante Adams, Green Bay Packers

Yes, the Green Bay Packers face the toughest task asked of any NFL team right now. That task? Go and beat the undefeated Los Angeles Rams.

Furthermore, go and beat the Rams at home. Yes, it won’t be easy, but if there is any gunslinger who can do so it’s Aaron Rodgers.

A big part of trying to dethrone the Rams will be the play of budding star Davante Adams. He has been a great fantasy player as well.

Adams is coming off a bye, but before that, he put together two straight 25+ point games. The Rams secondary is a bit banged up, so expect Adams to be a handful.

Next: 3. A.J. Green

3. A.J. Green, Cincinnati Bengals

Mike Evans will be on the opposite sideline of A.J. Green when the Bucs play the Bengals this week. These two players may put on a show.

Perhaps one of the bigger shocks so far was the absolute dud of a game the Bengals played against the Kansas City Chiefs. They went into Arrowhead and got blown out 45-10.

However, Green still racked up his usual stat line. He caught seven balls for 117 yards. The only thing missing was a score.

Well, Green may find multiple touchdowns against the Buccaneers. The Bucs are tied for first with 11 touchdowns surrendered to opposing wide receivers.

Next: 2. Odell Beckham Jr.

2. Odell Beckham Jr., New York Giants

More from The Jet Press

The New York Giants have kicked it into full blown fire sale mode. The team is trading off assets and stock piling on draft picks.

One guy who isn’t going anywhere is Odell Beckham Jr. The superstar receiver has fallen susceptible to his usual off the field antics, but he’s been a headache for opposing defensive coordinators as well.

Fantasy? Yeah, Beckham’s been pretty great. He just went for his second 25+ point game in Week 7.

The Giants play the Washington Redskins this week. While the Redskins have been a good team against opposing receivers, OBJ is desperate for a win. Also, he will want to shred Josh Norman.

Next: 1. Adam Thielen

1. Adam Thielen, Minnesota Vikings

Adam Thielen, also known as the league’s best, has continued to be the best fantasy receiver in the NFL. He finished the Vikes win over the Jets with 26 points.

Thielen extended his streak of games with 100+ receiving yards to seven games. He also pushed his games with a TD catch to four straight games.

This week the Vikings host the New Orleans Saints. This game has shootout written all over it and likely be one of the best football games in Week 8.
