Heading into Week 7 fantasy football, make sure to start New York Jets running back Bilal Powell who will put on a clinic against the Minnesota Vikings.

It’s been seven long weeks in the NFL and believe it or not, New York Jets running back Bilal Powell has yet to score a rushing touchdown. Of course, most of that is due to the fact that Powell is mostly a backup running back behind Isaiah Crowell. The good news this week in fantasy football is that Powell is entering a highly favorable situation.

Due to a foot injury to Crowell, he will likely either end up being limited in action or potentially be inactive for the Jets Week 7 home game against the Minnesota Vikings. This bodes well for Powell and fantasy football owners that are debating whether or not to start him.

In the grand scheme of things, Powell should receive a bulk of reps at running back and will be a big catalyst on offense. It’s time offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates utilized Powell to his strengths and make him into an X-factor on offense.

Ideally, expect to see Powell double up his fantasy football contributions as both a rushing and receiving threat. Considering the Vikings defense hasn’t lived up to expectations this season, Powell could easily have a big day at the office if everything falls into place.

With elusive speed and the ability to make big plays once the football is in his hands, expect to see Powell finally have a breakout game for the first time this season with the Jets. He should get his first 100+ rushing yard game of the year as he’s come close just a few weeks ago but is due to have a big game as this one against the Vikings has the potential to finally be it.

Start Powell this week and don’t even think twice about it. He’s going to make some serious noise in what should be his biggest game yet in 2018.
