Heading into Week 6 fantasy football, New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold is worth starting against the Indianapolis Colts.

Last week against the Denver Broncos, New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold played well and earned a decent amount of fantasy football points. In Week 5, Darnold totaled 198 passing yards, three touchdowns, and one interception.

Heading into this Sunday’s home game against the Indianapolis Colts, should fantasy football owners put their trust in Darnold to get the job done again? In the grand scheme of things, yes, considering the matchup he’s presented in.

The Colts don’t have a good pass defense which means that Darnold could potentially have his best game yet this season. Considering that Darnold has yet to have a breakout game, bodes well for this particular weekend ending up as “the one” fantasy owners have been waiting for.

More from The Jet Press

The Jets will be having a massive celebration of their Super Bowl III victory as one better believe players will want to ensure they leave this game victorious. Everyone will be amped up as fans in MetLife Stadium will undoubtedly be cheering the Jets on to beat the Colts in honor of the only championship team in franchise history.

Darnold is entering a highly favorable fantasy matchup and is worth starting this week. He’s not at a QB1 level just yet but at this point in time, is a QB2 slowly on the rise. With how well things opened up last week on offense with Robby Anderson, expect to see Darnold put up a big game and throw several touchdowns in front of the home crowd and Jets alumni.

Overall, Darnold is progressing well and has been a bright spot so far this season with the Jets. Even Sports Opinions Podcast predicts Darnold as the top player to start on the Jets in Week 6 fantasy action so if you’re debating it, start him and don’t even think twice about it.
