Heading into their Week 2 AFC East division rivalry game, the latest betting odds have the New York Jets as early favorites over the Miami Dolphins.
As both the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets are 1-0 entering their Week 2 AFC East division rivalry game, the early betting odds are out. As per Odds Shark, the spread consensus is +3 for the Dolphins.
In regards to the final predicted score, Odds Shark has the Jets at 26.3 over the Dolphins at 14.3. The Jets are likely early betting favorites mainly due to the fact that this Week 2 matchup will be in their home at MetLife Stadium. Expected to be a sellout game, Jets fans will be loud and cheering like there is no tomorrow after their dominating 48-17 Week 1 victory over the Detroit Lions.
The Jets are also favorited since they defeated the Dolphins in their last matchup in 2017 with the final score of 20-6. The Dolphins have, for the most part, the same team from last year as the Jets have made major upgrades to their roster this offseason.

From drafting their future franchise quarterback in Sam Darnold to adding star cornerback Trumaine Johnson to their stout defensive secondary, the Jets are slightly more talented than the Dolphins. Combining that with playing in front of the home crowd and coming off a red-hot win last week, it would be wise to bet on the Jets to leave this game victorious.
After this matchup, the Jets have a short week as they will then hit the road to face the Cleveland Browns in Week 3 action. For now, however, the Jets are the talk of the football world as Darnold has added an immediate boost of confidence that these aren’t the “same old Jets” anymore.
Expect to see the Jets beat the Dolphins and who knows, they might very well rout them as team morale and execution are pretty high at this point in time. That’s a dangerous combination to have when trying to make another big statement.
