Wide receiver Quincy Enunwa is entering a big year with the New York Jets as he’s essentially playing for his future. At this point in time, he’s not concerned about his future contract but more so on a bounce-back season.

When it comes to wide receiver Quincy Enunwa, 2018 is all about redemption. Unfortunately last season, Enunwa suffered a neck injury that required surgery for him to begin a lengthy rehab process.

It’s not easy coming back from such a severe neck injury, but so far during Jets training camp, Enunwa has been doing well. He’s practicing with a helmet and pads on while looking good on the gridiron.

Ideally, the Jets are hoping Enunwa bounces back and proves he still has what it takes to be a solid wide receiver for many years to come. Enunwa is only back with the Jets on a one-year deal and well, there is a lot to play for this upcoming season for him.

Besides doing his part to put the Jets in a position to win a lot of football games, he’s effectively playing for his future. It’s important that he remains healthy all season long and proves that he’s more than capable of being a top receiver on offense.

For now, however, Enunwa isn’t worried about a future contract with the Jets. The consummate professional on and off the field, Enunwa is all about football and not letting a future contract with the Jets distract him from the task at hand.

In an article written by Mollie Walker of the New York Post, here is what Enunwa said in regards to his next potential contract with the Jets after this season is over:

“I think that next contract is what everybody wants to get to,” Enunwa said Sunday after practice. “I’m definitely looking forward to just playing my best right now. I’m not thinking too much about the contract because I have my own personal goals, and I know that those personal goals will help the team’s goals and will eventually help my contract goals. For me, it’s just going out there and performing and showing what I can do.”

In the grand scheme of things, Enunwa is right. He already signed his contract for this season and since that is now in the books, it’s all about staying healthy and focused on delivering another big season like he did in 2016. That year, he totaled 857 receiving yards, 58 receptions, and four touchdowns.
